Odesa hosted the Ukrainian Transport Forum 2025, one of the key platforms for strategic dialogue between the state, business, and industry leaders. The event was organised by the Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine (AIFFU) in partnership with the European Business Association (EBA).
The discussion focused on the challenges facing Ukrainian logistics and the decisions that will determine its future. Participants addressed changes in transport regulation during wartime, the digitisation of procedures, and the restructuring of freight logistics under wartime conditions.
During the forum, the Head of the “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”, Oleksandr Semyrga, spoke about the digital transformation of the port industry and the first tangible results achieved.
“We are already seeing concrete results. Most port operations in the implemented land module of the DocPort system now take about one minute. Each stage and decision are recorded, transparent, and clearly accountable. The inability to interfere with the data eliminates the grounds for manipulation and minimises corruption risks,” said Oleksandr Semyrga.
The Head of the USPA also outlined further plans: by the end of the year, implementation of both DocPort modules in six ports should be completed. In parallel, cooperation continues with the State Customs Service to ensure a full transition to electronic document management.
“These are our ambitious plans. There is still a lot of technical work ahead with the State Customs Service, but the digital transformation is ongoing. It is clear that additional options will be offered for businesses needing more time to adapt. At the same time, we are already inviting businesses to test new solutions, join DocPort and share their feedback. We are open to dialogue and look forward to receiving suggestions to further improve the system,” emphasised Oleksandr Semyrga. The USPA’s task is to ensure maximum cooperation with businesses in the implementation of digital solutions and to create convenient, transparent and efficient services for all participants in the port industry.
