The State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” is securing financing from the European Commission to renew its technical and pilot fleet in accordance with Resolution No. 1475 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Thanks to this resolution, USPA has gained the opportunity to attract European Commission funding for the modernisation of its fleet. This concerns the renewal of technical vessels and pilot boats that ensure navigational safety and the stable operation of maritime and inland waterways.
The decision is of particular importance in light of recent events on the Danube, where the dredger Inhulskyi was seriously damaged as a result of an explosion.
As part of the project, USPA has announced the procurement of a modern self-propelled hopper dredger with a drag suction system, as well as two new pilot boats of up to 20 metres in length. The tender conditions allow for the participation of both Ukrainian and foreign companies, creating an opportunity to attract the world’s best solutions and manufacturers.

USPA also emphasises the importance of competition in the international market and expects participation from leading shipbuilders, which will help ensure the highest technical standards.
In addition, as part of the implementation of the same Resolution, USPA has announced the procurement of marine floating barriers for port infrastructure facilities and port waters. This equipment is intended to strengthen the protection of port water areas, contain potential threats, and enhance navigational safety under martial law.
