Foreign Ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg Visited Odesa Port

As part of their working visit to Ukraine, the foreign ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg visited the Odesa Sea Port, which has sustained damage from Russian attacks.

The European partners praised Ukraine’s efforts to preserve and further develop port operations, as well as the stable functioning of the Ukrainian Corridor. The ministers also inspected the Odesa Marine Terminal, damaged by a russian missile strike in September 2023.

The delegation was led by Maxime Prévot, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium; Xavier Bettel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg; and Hélène Bakker, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

“For Ukraine’s ports, it is crucial to feel the attention and support of international partners. The visit of the foreign ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg to Odesa is a clear signal of solidarity. Despite more than 450 attacks on our port infrastructure, we continue to operate and supply the world with Ukrainian grain and other cargoes. Every vessel that departs from a Ukrainian port is a symbol of resilience and our contribution to global food security,” stressed Oleksandr Semyrga, Head of SE “USPA”.
