Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Celebrates Its 12th Anniversary in Odesa

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has marked the 12th anniversary of its establishment. The celebratory event in Odesa brought together representatives of central government, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Odesa Regional Military Administration, and the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

During the celebrations, SE USPA employees were awarded for their professionalism, dedication, and contribution to ensuring the stable operation of Ukraine’s ports during wartime.

In his address, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, Andrii Kashuba, highlighted SE USPA’s role as a strategic pillar of the country’s logistics system, which continues to operate despite the war.

“More than 4,500 employees ensure the daily operation of Ukraine’s ports. Even under the threat of shelling and in the face of war, the system does not stop. Ukrainian exports reach 54 countries worldwide, supporting global food security. SE USPA coordinates the entire port system: it implements digital solutions, promotes transparency and efficiency, and ensures the safety and reliability of every port’s operations. This is an example of how critical infrastructure can not only withstand challenges but also undergo transformation. I thank each of you for sustaining logistics, keeping our ports operational, supporting the economy, and helping Ukraine achieve victory through your daily, persistent work,” said Andrii Kashuba.

Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, also extended his congratulations:

“The port system is the heart of the nation’s economy. We will never forget how in August 2023, the first vessel departed from Odesa — the whole city stood and watched as a new chapter began. Since then, over 125 million tonnes of cargo have moved — that’s our export, our import, our lifeblood. You are the foundation of the logistics hub, and your work today is irreplaceable. I sincerely wish you inspiration, good health, and continued success.”Head of the SE USPA, Oleksandr Semyrga, also addressed the audience, expressing gratitude to the enterprise’s team for their dedicated work, ability to adapt to new challenges, and for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of ports even in times of active hostilities.
