An introductory meeting was held at the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) with the participation of the enterprise’s management and a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland led by Chargé d’Affaires Piotr Łukasiewicz.
Head of the USPA, Oleksandr Semyrga, thanked the Polish side for its consistent support of Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion.
“Poland has remained an important ally of Ukraine since the first days of the war. We are sincerely grateful for this support and regard the Polish side as a strategic partner in the development of port logistics and the establishment of long-term economic partnership,” he said.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation in the ports of Great Odesa following recent missile strikes, as well as the current challenges in the field of port security. Particular attention was paid to the potential involvement Polish companies in the operation of Ukrainian seaports, especially in container transportation and bulk cargo transshipment. Plans to open new transit routes were also discussed.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in maintaining ongoing dialogue and practical cooperation. In this context, the preparation of an economic mission of Polish companies to Odesa, scheduled for the end of June, was discussed specifically.
