USPA Announces Tender for Marine Fender Replacement at Chornomorsk Port Worth 52.6 millionUAH

The Chornomorsk branch of the SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” has announced a tender for the major overhaul of berths, involving the replacement of worn-out fender systems. The estimated cost of the works is 52.6 million UAH.

The project includes a comprehensive set of construction activities, such as replacing rubber fenders on 16 berths, repairing façade surfaces, reinforcing concrete structures, and installing additional protective elements.

In 2025-2026, as part of the procurement, the first phase of repairs will take place, involving the installation of 176 fender units (rubber cylinders) across 7 berths.

The overhaul is required due to the significant deterioration of existing fenders, most of which have been in use for more than 40 years.

The project will deploy new energy-absorbing fenders to reduce the load on berths and ensure safe operations for large-tonnage vessels.

Overall, the modernisation will encompass 16 berths at the Chornomorsk port, enhancing mooring safety and expanding the port’s capacity to accommodate modern fleets. SE USPA systematically continues the modernisation of critical port infrastructure to maintain resilience and competitiveness of Ukrainian ports even amid wartime conditions.
