USPA Head Oleksandr Semyrga Holds Working Meeting with Key Market Representatives in Chornomorsk to Coordinate Stable Port Operations

Oleksandr Semyrga, Head of the SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”, held a working meeting with key market participants at the Chornomorsk Sea Port. The agenda included discussions of operational results, addressing existing logistical challenges and business needs, coordinating efforts for the upcoming logistics season, and increase the efficiency of interaction between all participants. Particular attention was paid to infrastructure projects currently at the final stages of preparation.

“We share a common goal—to successfully and confidently navigate the upcoming logistics season. To achieve this, it’s crucial to listen to each other, identify obstacles, understand issues that create hindrances, and recognise areas where we, as USPA, can assist. Trust is a two-way street, and we must operate as one unified team. The current circumstances demand more than just smooth cooperation—they require shared responsibility, decisive action, and reliable partnership,” stressed Oleksandr Semyrga.

USPA emphasises that the sustainable development of the port industry relies heavily on ongoing dialogue between the state and businesses. The Coordination Council on the Development of competitive environment and the creation of equal conditions in Seaports under Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plays an essential role, ensuring strategic-level communication with the market.

“As a state-owned enterprise, and you as key logistics operators, we must maintain continuous, open dialogue. We propose focusing joint efforts on eliminating core barriers and risks faced by businesses daily. Only in this way can we build effective and practical cooperation that meets actual market needs,” added Oleksandr Semyrga.

Infrastructure projects planned for the coming years were also specifically discussed during the meeting, with particular attention given to priorities such as reconstruction of berths, access routes, and storage areas scheduled for 2025 and beyond. These projects form part of the long-term development strategy of the Chornomorsk port. Despite the war and ongoing attacks on port facilities, USPA remains committed to implementing its development and recovery plans, concentrating on strengthening logistical capabilities and modernising infrastructure in the long term.
